"City of Birmingham Department Of Public Works Administrator Mr. Paul Ward Presented with Honorary BRB Club Membership"
|
|
Yesterday BRB President Randy DeArmen and BRB Founders Ron Witherspoon
and Trent Nickerson met at the office of City of Birmingham
Administrator Mr. Paul Ward to present him with a Honorary BRB Club
Membership. Since our club's existence Mr. Ward has been the
Administrator of both the City of Birmingham's New Georgia Landfill and
the Eastern Landfill. With his permission we have been allowed the use
of the New Georgia Landfill as our club's official launch site in the
City of Birmingham for the past four years. Mr. Ward has been a very special supporter and friend of BRB and we
took great pride in making him a Honorary member of our club.
BRB club Founder Ron Witherspoon presented Mr. Ward with a BRB Honorary club membership certificate, card and badge, an official BRB club cap and shirt, and a monogramed travel bag from BRB sponsor Boeing Aerospace. After the presentation we drove Mr. Ward to Gardendale, Alabama where BRB President Randy DeArmen treated him to lunch at Lisa's Kitchen Restaurant. The food and the fellowship was great and Mr. Ward thanked us for our thoughtfulness and the recognition and special gifts that our club gave him. Randy, Trent and I agreed that this was a good meeting and that we had done a great service by honoring Mr. Ward. It is my personal belief that as long as Mr. Ward is employed with the City of Birmingham BRB will always have a friend in "City Hall" and a field to fly on. Mr. Ward took us to visit our launch site before we left and we found his workers busy mowing the field for this Saturday's BRB club launch. We are truly blessed to have Mr. Ward as a BRB member and special friend. Written by: Ron Witherspoon / Founder |
